The unincorporated area of east Orlando is considered East Orange County. It is near the University of Central Florida. East Orlando features sprawling communities such as Avalon Park which is an 8,000 acre development surrounded by protected wilderness and wild life. 600 acres are the preserved forest with open spaces having 250 acres of man-made ponds.
Avalon Park has everything one needs within the community. Residents can walk to the community center for shopping, entertainment, recreation and all sports. The Regional Park offers football, soccer, baseball, softball, picnic pavilions, tennis courts and basketball courts. There are paved paths for jogging and walking with more paths in the nature preserve.
All Schools are conveniently located within the community. Other popular communities include Waterford Lakes; Eastwood, and Stoneybrook.
